Adjusting and getting used to stuff.
Adjusting and getting used to stuff.
So, here I come with my first boring and cliche post. I mainly want to talk about the world and if it is really as bad as it looks. I want to play with a perspective here.
So, just like all other Life enthusiasts in this big world, I too want to explore Life to the 'fullest'. But how do I do that ? Do I really need to find three real friends, have a heartbreak and travel to Spain just to recreate the ZNMD experience ? Do I need to just throw a dart on a world map and travel to the place where it hits ? ( Hope, It doesn't hit North Korea, or Afghanistan or whatever. No offense to North Koreans, if you are able to read this blog in the very first place. )
Well, I would love to do all of that stuff. But can I ?
If you are an engineering student in Bangalore hailing from a modest middle class family, the answer is probably NO for obvious reasons. ( Recalled the smell of currency notes that come out from an ATM machine).
So how do I experience life, with harsh reality literally kicking my ass everyday ?
Mom always tells me to go with the flow and break the overthinking cycle. I didn't believe this for a long time. But when I started to get exposed to harsh truths, I started deeply believing in this fact.
One fine day, I decided to follow Mom's advice. It has been a year now, and it is working for me.
We Humans are complicated creatures. The more we learn about stuff, the more we explore and gradually start to expect things. That is why we hear phrases like, "I expect you to listen to me", "I expect to get promoted ", "I expected that you would appreciate me", etc.
But what we don't realize, is that the same 'expectation' is the key reason why we set our lifestyle goals so high, that they nearly tend to become impossible.
Come on !! Admit it !!
Dude, you live somewhere in Kalasipalya, but you think of becoming The President one day. You have no required skill sets to contest for elections, nor do you have the time and money to spend on that crap.
"Limo mein ghoomunga ... ", Bhag bsdk.
You can experience life to the fullest without even getting out of your house. It depends on how positive your mindset is, and how motivated you are to keep ticking stuff in your checklist one after the other.
Unplanned stuff is always good. Only in the movies.
In real life, we need a plan. We need to execute it at the right time, in a right way. When certain small things do not go according to the plan, we need to reframe it. In simple words, we need to make some 'Adjustments', so that, one small stone on the track doesn't derail our train.
Hope, I was able to give you guys my perspective about adjustments. To be frank, I have no problem adjusting to my surroundings. I do the best to mingle with people and have a good conversation. But if this doesn't go as planned, I never mind. I have a lot of stuff to think about, lot of stuff to be ticked off from my checklist.
This is the only way to true peace of mind. Break the Overthinking cycle and do some little adjustments here 'n there. Steer the boat in your direction !!
